With Nigeria’s maternal mortality ratio (MMR) reaching a staggering 1,047 deaths per 100,000 live births in 2020 – ranking as the fourth highest in the world – and contributing nearly 20% of global maternal deaths, our organization recognizes the urgent need for action.
At AceMedix Foundation, our mission is simple: to collaborate with governmental and non-governmental organizations to reduce the rate of maternal mortality in Nigeria.
Our foundation focuses on reaching women of childbearing age, pregnant women, and nursing mothers across Nigeria.
Through collaboration with local authorities, we organize health outreaches in various communities. During these sessions, we engage with women, providing essential information on maternal health and well-being.
We offer counseling sessions to educate women on common risk factors associated with maternal health. Our aim is to empower them with knowledge on preventive measures.
We prioritize the health of pregnant women by screening them for diseases such as Malaria, HBV, HCV, and HIV. Additionally, we conduct tests for blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and other vital health indicators.
To support the well-being of women and infants, we distribute healthcare packs containing essential items such as sanitary pads, soaps, disinfectants, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mosquito nets, and routine medications like folic acid and iron supplements.
